West Midlands Photography at Bordesley Park.
On Sunday, I photographed my last wedding of 2020 at Bordesley Park. Shona and Darren had originally booked their day with the amazing Katie from Still Light photography. Unfortunately, due to Covid they had to move their date and this one fell on the day Katie had trained all year for to do a triathlon, so Katie asked if I could step in to help out. It has been a very sad year for all of us in the wedding industry and all I can think about at the moment is just for us all to stay positive, and stay strong and all work together. I love being a West Midlands wedding photographer because in this area I work with so many talented suppliers like Katie and we always help each other out when needed. For me, Sunday was a happy/sad moment. I was happy to be photographing a wedding, but sad knowing that it’s my last one of 2020.
Shona and Darren had decided to just go for it on Sunday and get married. They were determined to not let COVID affect them getting married, so they moved their date to the nearest possible one they could. When I arrived, I could clearly see everyone involved at Bordesley Park had come together to make it work for them, and make it work they did! What a day! It was absolutely perfect from start to finish. I felt proud to be Shona and Darren’s West Midlands Wedding photographer, and when we met we hit it off straight away. Especially, when I discussed all the creative shots I wanted to do, they were 100% on board!
Bordesley Park, what a venue!
Bordesely Park is one of those perfect wedding venues for anyone looking to get married in the middle of beautiful countryside. It is definitely one of my favourites, and I highly recommend this place. Their website describes it perfectly, so I thought I would let them do the talking and I will show some photos! ‘Bordesley Park Wedding Venue is a beautiful exclusive-use wedding venue in the heart of the Worcestershire Countryside. The Tudor Barn provides the perfect location for your wedding ceremony with the luxury glazed garden marquee providing an outstanding reception venue. Acres of private grounds on this family estate are full of features to keep your guests amused and your photographs totally unique. The ideal venue to tie the knot and celebrate your special day’ I agree totally with this description, and highly recommend you take a visit and have a look for yourself.
Shona had her pre bridal preparations in the lovely Tudor Barn, just above their ceremony room. Here are some shots from a Pre bridal session. Thanks to the amazing Bridal Hair by Helena Sinclair for their awesome work, creating all the beautiful hair styles.
I then spent some time with Darren and his mates. They were all wearing kilts and it was hilarious listening to some of their comments “how do you put on this?” “where does this go” it was brilliant! The boys got ready in the barn area where there is a fantastic pool table area perfect. Perfect for those ‘bloke’ moments. Here are some shots from their session.
We then had the ceremony and it ran so smoothly the registrars were the loveliest two people you could have been in a wedding. They were so relaxed and although we had to stick to the COVID rules, they didn’t make it an issue and it ran so perfectly. Here are some shots from the ceremony.
After the ceremony, was where I got to use my creative photography and as the weather was just perfect for flying conditions, I was able to bring out my drone. I qualified as a pilot just before lockdown and I’ve been itching use it at a wedding, so once I got the go ahead with the venue, I took some shots, which had to be on the amazing trampoline at Bordesley Park! They have built one into the ground, perfect opportunity for me to create my quirky shots that I just love to take at weddings! Here are some drone shots I got.
I had so much fun at Bordesley Park on Sunday, and it was just the perfect way for me to say goodbye to 2020, and wait eagerly for 2021!
Thanks for reading this blog and I hope you can salvage some of the rest of your 2020 the best way you can. See you in 2021!
Thanks, Aaron
